Llama boy is finally naked! Well maybe not naked. I bought a set of
clippers and sheared him myself. I cut half of his body one day and the other half the next. I think I was way
more nervous than he was. Bob and Erik helped, well Erik helped, Bob stood by as security guard or something. Next year
will be better, I'll be less hesitant and Barbosa will know this is a good thing, he's much cooler.

Ding dong the fox is dead! It's a dreary rainy day today and after I milked I
sat on the porch with my coffee and a book and I kept hearing chicken commotion. I walked out to the chicken house, everybody
was alert but seemed ok. Back to my book and chair, I hear a commotion again, this time Bob says it's probably the baby
goats harrasing the chickens. (Sometimes the babies play a fun game called try to run over the scardy chickens.) Time passes
and I hear it again so I walk back up there and see the fox INSIDE the chicken house, I zoom back to the house, Bob and Erik
come running with shotguns and the chase is on. Bob went around the barn one way and Erik went to his tree perch the
other way. I sat on the porch with my fingers crossed and .....kaboom. There were 11 chickens this morning I have only
found 4 this afternoon. Of course they are hiding so I'm hoping there will be more later. Hopefully the chickens will
be safe from predators for awhile anyway.

I have so enjoyed cheesemaking classes this month. I've visited with all sorts
of people who have given me great tips and advice. Probably the most common thing people ask me is, "Have you read Animal,
Vegetable, Miracle?" I'm ashamed to say no. I have finaly remedied that, (I'm on page 63). I see why everyone
is recommending it, what an excellent read. I find myself nodding my head in agreement while I'm reading. I've been
reading it outloud to Bob when we drive in the car and he's nodding his head. When I'm done reading it be sure and ask
me to borrow it, you've got to read this book!

Well, my baby girl is gone. She left for Denmark last nite at 6:30. That
was extremely difficult. We hugged outside the security gates at the airport, it took much self control not to sob and
beg her to stay. She called this morning and reported they had arrived safely and were hanging out with family. It's
gonna be a long month!

I love spring! We have been so busy outside. Bob finished roofing the porch,
now it needs gutter (if it would just stop raining) and then that project is done. (Ha, until I talk him into screening it
in). The fox is back, took a chicken yesterday right out of the backyard. Of course, I remained completely calm
as I suggested to Bob that perhaps he'd like to get the gun and head outside, (my throat still hurts from screaming),
stupid fox. He came again today, but went away hungry, unfortunately he went away unscathed! Katie goes to Denmark in
17 days, I've changed my mind, she CAN'T GO! what was I thinking!! She will be spending 4 days in Rome while
she's gone. I'm sooo jealous. Eat Katie Eat!
